About Opportunity
Mill of Benholm is a Charity founded to provide community support for adult learners. We have a tearoom, shop and this year being given volunteer support we opened a plant centre. Thse facilities provide work experience and training for people with extra support needs who work Monday to Fridays. Our aim is to prepare our trainees for regular employment but they are welcome with us until such timesa as they find work elsewhere. We have part time paid supervisors and staff but are becoming increasingly effective as the number of volunteers build to take on new roles in developing the service and the site. There are only 2 paid staff on reduced hours in the tearoom/kitchen. We need volunteers Monday to Saturday to enable us to continue delivering a quality service during the busy visitor season. Given more volunteer help we could extend our hours.

About Mill of Benholm Project
Mill of Benholm is a working waterwheel mill museum open to visitors, renovated in 1994. Walking down the track from the car park into the little tree lined valley is a journey back in time to ancient buildings bordered with wild flowers clustered around a millpond with tumbling sounds of a stream by a tearoom patio.
Mill of Benholm Trust is a Charity founded to provide community support for adult learners. We have a tearoom and shop, and in 2009 are establishing a garden centre. These facilities provide work experience and training for people with extra support needs who work Monday to Fridays. Our aim is to prepare our trainees for regular employment but they are welcome with us until such time as they find work elsewhere.
We have part time paid supervisors and staff but would much more effective if there were volunteers interested in taking specific responsibilities for developing the potential of this beautiful and historic site.
