About Opportunity
Volunteer Action Dumfries & Galloway is the local Volunteer Centre for the region. Volunteer Action Dumfries & Galloway is a Company Ltd by Guarantee and charity trustees will be company directors. The Board meets approx. 5 times per annum. As a Board member, you will ensure that the aims and objectives of the organisation are being met. In addition to this you will support the Manager in maintaining sound policies and procedures, working to best practice and ensure that the organisation's finances are in order. Volunteer Action occasionally undertakes additional pieces of work/projects, and as a Board Member you will kept informed of progress. No previous experience of committee work is required as you will be given a full induction to the organisation and initially have support from the Manager and other Board members. Access to training & development opportunities is available. Out of pocket expenses are paid.

Travel Details
Normally held in Dumfries at the hub, 24-26 Friars Vennel. Volunteers are given travel expenses at 35p per mile if using their own car. Public transport rates and out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.
