When We Need You

About Opportunity
Toryglen’s first ever Fruit Barra is looking for volunteers to help with a range of roles. We are selling fresh, healthy fruit and veg, bought from the wholesalers the same morning, at cost price to local people. The aim of the project is to improve the availability of fruit and veg locally, make it affordable to people on low incomes and accessible to people without transport. We will also be selling vegetables that have been grown locally in community gardens. Volunteers will help with setting up the fruit barra, serving customers – which includes handling money – and helping pack away again at the end. Please note this opportunity is only available to those living in Rutherglen or Cambuslang.

We are a small environmental and health organisation with a range of projects to our name including community gardens, environmental education, conservation groups and a fruit barra. We involve local people and volunteers in everything we do, and will always try to match a volunteer with what they want to do. We are based in Toryglen but will accept volunteers from Rutherglen, Cambuslang and other areas not too far away.
