About Opportunity
Volunteer speakers are of huge importance to the Leprosy Mission Scotland, speaking at a wide variety of groups such as schools, youth groups, Rotary, churches or retirement groups. Helping to raise awareness of the reality of leprosy is a very important task, and you would be central to increasing our supporter base andfunds. Leprosy is curable and our target is to bring about a world without leprosy through effective diagnosis, treatment and suppport for people and communities affected by leprosy. Meetings will often include a stall with fairly traded goods made by leprosy affected people who have gone through rehabilitation and training programmes and are now able to support themselves and their families. The leprosy Mission is a Christian charity and while meetings may be in a Christian or a secular environment, volunteers must be sympathetic to the Leprosy Missions values and ethos.
