About Opportunity
The Befrienders provide a valuable service which aims to improve and enhance the quality of life of those people who use the service. The Hands on Project relies on the skills, experience and talents of a pool of volunteers recruited and trained by the project. The ultimate aim of the project is to promote active community participation, self-help and empowerment, as well as breaking down the isolation many housebound people suffer through lack of social contact. It also gives users an opportunity to exercise greater control over their own lives.
