About Opportunity

Supervise and help to recruit foster carers in your area. Keep in regular contact with all foster carers. Clarify arrangements for collection and transport of the pet and financing its food, vet costs etc while in care. Keep accurate and up-to-date records of each fostering. Notify the Development Manager of any alterations to your existing list of foster carers. Publicise PFSS and establish links with the relevant agencies e.g. health, social work, police, veterinary, etc. Ensure the goodwill of other animal related organisations and commercial organisations e.g. kennels and catteries. In rehoming cases, liase with the Development Manager and rehoming volunteers, helping to complete the relevant paperwork.

Training and Induction Details

An information and training guide is produced for all new area organisers, we hold annual meetings for any changes which they need to be aware of and have a national coordinator who is available to answer ongoing queries and help solve any issues.

Expenses Detail

Mileage 25p per mile Area Organisers are given a £50 float which is used to pay their own and foster carer’s out of pocket expenses, this is topped up as needed. All volunteer expenses are explained in the expense policy.
