About Opportunity
The Young Carers Mentoring Service offers one to one support for young carers in the Greater Pollok area. Currently we are recruiting for volunteer mentor / befrienders. Mentors are people from all walks of life, who willing to spend one or two evenings a month on a one to one basis with a young carer. Anyone has the potential to become a mentor all you need is a genuine interest in young people. No previous experience is necessary as full training and ongoing support is given. Mentoring is a rewarding and enjoyable experience for both the mentor and the young carer. The mentor has the personal satisfaction of knowing that they have made a positive difference in a young person’s life. The young carer benefits from the life skills and experience of their mentor. HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? If you are interested in this opportunity please get in touch with us using the contact details on this page. Alternatively you can register your interest directly using the Register Interest facility. If you do not receive a response within [14] working days, please contact the Volunteer Centre. [The next step is to make arrangements for an application form to be sent by post] It generally takes around [4 – 6 weeks] after you contact us to get you started.
