About Opportunity

Home basics has a small Board of Directors who assist in overseeing the work of this local charity aimed at working with individuals and families who are hoping to furnish or set up home. In addistion to help with the work of the Board, there are further opportunities to become more directly involved with the charity in sales or with administrative work.

About Home Basics (Tweeddale)

Home Basics is a non-profit organisation that provides furniture and other household items for the disadvantaged in our community Also a recipient of the prestigious Queens Golden Jubilee Award for voluntary groups in the community - Unsung Heroes.

Skills & Experience

Confidence in working with a small group of like-minded individuals. Knowledge of business and/or environmental issues.

Travel Details

Monthly evening meetings alternating between Hawick and Walkerburn bases.

Training and Induction Details

After induction, training for Directors is via ongoing support from local advisors and from Organisations involved in the third sector.
