About Opportunity
Staying with a specific patient at mealtimes to assist with food and drinks. Reporting any observed changes in patient’s physical or psychological needs to relevant nurse in charge. Familiarizing with patients means of communication or other issues as per risk assessment. Supporting other ward volunteer where appropriate.

About The Ayrshire Hospice (SC011390 )
The Ayrshire Hospice has been extremely supportive of the Hospice since it began. The Voluntary Service Department within the Hospice co-ordinates the offers of help which come from individuals in the community.

Training and Induction Details
A two hour induction including tour and video. Specific training with nursing staff (on the job). Training courses - infection control, food hygiene, fundamental palliative care, communication skills, moving and handling.
