About Opportunity

Blue Bonnets is a Living History and Re-enactment Group specialising in Scottish and particularly Borders' history from the 16th - 18th centuries. The driver would be required to transport members to events around the Borders and possibly further afield to places such as Berwick, Edinburgh or Carlisle in order for members to participate in events or engage in field research. The driver would not be obligated to dress up or take part in the historical re-enactment events or field research but an interest in local heritage would obviously be an advantage to the driver. Petrol costs would be refunded.

About Blue Bonnets Living History Group

Our primary aim is to promote interst in local heritage and history by the interpretation of the past from the existing evidence. We wish to present a picture of how people lived, worked, fought and played during the 16th to 18th centuries. We intend to bring Borders history to life by organising living history projects and historical re-enactments. This will involve participants dressing in authentic looking historical costume and engaging in re-enactments of past lifestyles, or battle re-enactments or other local historical events.
