About Opportunity
Coach education programmes Information on the education programmes for coaches and volunteers in East Renfrewshire Our coach education programme is aimed at helping all coaches and volunteers improve their coaching ability and knowledge in a positive and informative learning environment. Football coach education We organise an extensive football coach education programme in conjunction with key partners at the SFA. The coaching pathways are for Children, Youths & Adults. However, we also run a variety of courses to meet specialist requirements. To download the Scottish FA West Region education programme go to the Related documents area. Coach education weekend Our annual coach education weekend provides opportunities for coaches and volunteers to gain introductory sport specific coaching awards. Similarly, coaches and volunteers are able to gain certification in sports related workshops, covering topics such as child protection and disability sports. Participants can also attend a Positive Coaching Scotland Workshop. Our next coach education weekend will take place in April 2012. Other coach education courses We organise a variety of courses and workshops to meet local needs. About Scottish Football Association
CashBack for Communities is about providing opportunities for young people aged 10 -19 to take part in free football activities across the country. As well as this it hopes to create new volunteers and build sustainability in communities by offering discounted coach education courses.
Skills & Experience
volunteers must be enthusiastic, reliable, welcoming and have good communication skills. There is a minimum commitment of 15 weeks,
Travel Details
We currently have primary and secondary schools throught East Renfrewshire involved. Training takes place on site after school once a week with games generally every 3-4 weeks in a nearby location.

There will be a senior coach at every session who will provide background information as well as support in the roles and responsibilities. there are also qualification opportunities Early Touches Level 1 and level 2 (free)
