Befriender, sitter, care at home

When We Need You

From 24/11/2009 onwards

About Opportunity

Befrienders, sitters and people to help with care at home are wanted for children and young people affected by disability and their families throughout Perthshire and Kinross. You will receive induction training and be carefully matched with each child. There will be ongoing training and support. A befriender would give the child the opportunity to make friends and take part in various activities either outwith their home or at home. This would give parents a much needed break from their caring role. A sitter would be carefully matched with each family to look after their child(ren) while they attend appointments, meetings or social activity. For care at home, a volunteer would provide practical support to families during school holidays, during planned time and in the event of emergencies.
