About Opportunity

Volunteers work from their own home, on the telephone helpline service and are required to do a four hour shift each week either from 10am - 2pm, 2pm - 6pm, 6pm-10pm or 10pm-2am. The helpline is controlled by a virtual call centre to ensure the privacy of the volunteers. Volunteers should be mature, able to manage their own feelings while providing a high standard of support. During a 3 month probationary period volunteers can assess whether they are handling calls well and if suitable for the opportunity. Training lasts for 1 hour/week for 8 weeks and is done via conference call from your own home. We will let you know when the next training course is due to take place HOW DO YOU GET INVOLVED? You should ideally phone or email Anxiety Alliance with your details/using the contact details on the right/select the REGISTER INTEREST! button. Anxiety Alliance will then send you out an application pack within 5 working days. A brief chat then takes place. It can take around 1 month to get you onto the next helpline training course.
