Foster Carer (Pet)
When We Need You
From 15/02/2010 onwards
About Opportunity
You would be responsible for meeting the daily needs of pets in your care, including feeding, cleaning, grooming, exercising and socialising until the pet is returned to its owner. You will never be asked to take a pet which is not suitable for you or your household. Pet costs, such as food and veterinary fees are met by the owner. We are looking for animal lovers who have experience of pet care/ownership and have a real desire to make a difference to animal welfare in your local area. A house visit is part of the selection procedure. Fosterers have to ensure pets are secure at all times. It is essential that cats be kept indoors and dogs should be kept on leads when outdoors

About Pet Fostering Service
PFSS provides temporary care for pets when their owner has health problems or is in an emergancy situation. Volunteers provide, in their own homes, care for domestic pets of owners who because of their illness or emergency are temporarily unable to look after them. Priority is given to elderly owners, while we want to help as many owners and pets as possible we are not a boarding service or re-homing charity. However, through the Blue Cross and PFSS collaboration we will be in a better position to rehome pets who are not able to be returned to their owner.
