About Opportunity

We will give you all the skills necessary to give talks in your local community on behalf of Bowel Cancer UK. You will be part of a friendly, enthusiastic and motivated team and you will be making a real difference to a charity that aims to provide information on bowel cancer to the nation. You will learn how to communicate to different groups of people, we will train you in presentation skills; you might already have relevant skills that you could bring on board. The awareness talks will take place to groups such as Age Concern, Rotary, employees and at community events such as farmers markets, healthy living days and mens health week events

Scotland has the highest incidence of bowel cancer in Europe. Nothing much to be proud of but it doesn't have to be that way and you can help us change that.

Bowel Cancer UK aims to save lives by raising awareness of bowel cancer, campaigning for best treatment and care and providing practical support and advice.

Training and Induction Details

An induction to the charity, the volunteering role, BCUK’s policies and the volunteer handbook will be given as soon after the volunteer has applied for an opportunity as possible. Initial training will consist of attending a weekend training event. Ong
