About Opportunity

The local Voluntary Group, supported by the national charity for people with diabetes, holds public meetings with interesting speakers, stalls at community events, and generally works towards raising awareness of diabetes and the work of Diabetes UK. Funds raised are used to fund research, and to subsidise local children to attend Diabetes UK support events. Volunteers are required to help administer the work, in many ways from treasurer to serving tea and coffee. Pleasant communication skills are important.
