About Opportunity
UAYSG is a charity providing Youth Work in Upper Annandale in partnership with Dumfries & Galloway Council. We currently provide two youth work nights, one afternoon Drop-In, trips and activities. There is an average weekly attendance of 50 young people. Volunteers support the paid staff. We also have a branch of the Youth Project in Beattock which is held once a week in the village hall. This is run entirely by volunteers and has approximately 30 attending. Volunteers can be involved in a variety of ways. We would like to begin a Music Project with the over 14's, giving them a chance to write their own songs but we need a musician who has expertise in music software. We need volunteers to support Youth Workers providing issue based and themed Youth Club nights. All prospective volunteers would undergo CRBS checks for a Disclosure and would be supervised.

About Upper Annandale Youth Support Group
Our group has after school drop-ins 5 nights a week and 3 youth club nights as well as trips. We aim to give young people a safe and secure environment to enjoy themselves and socialise with others. We have a healthy lifestyle policy which involves visitors to the building as well as trips out. A volunteer would require a disclosure and would always be on duty about 2 hours with a youth worker. This work is not always easy but can be very rewarding.
Skills & Experience
A positive attitude to young people is required and experience can be learned.
