About Opportunity

Every day clients come to the bureau with problems from which it is possible to gather information on local or national trends/issues. Citizens Advice Scotland use this information to help them lobby government departments or other authorities to prevent injustice or the abuse of human rights. The social policy co-ordinator is responsible for helping to identify such issues, gathering evidence and passing on the information to the bureau management and CAS staff. He/she is also required to liase with CAS staff in order to feed back relevant requests to volunteers. He/she will chair a social policy committee within the bureau to establish effective participation.

Skills & Experience

The volunteer must have a commitment to the aims and principles of the CAB. He/she must have good communication skills, be able to set up and control data and monitoring systems, therefore, he/she will be computer literate.

Travel Details

At the main Bureau, 5 Dalrymple Court Kirkintilloch. Kirkintilloch is easily accessible by public transport or there is ample car parking available.

Restrictions

He/she must be able to work as part of a team, and be willing to attend meetings and training courses.
