About Opportunity

Our organisation gives advice and information to local disabled people in such areas as welfare benefits, community care, transport, aids of equipment, holidays and access to the built environment. We keep a bank of data and provide training. Volunteers work in pairs and recruits always with an expereinced person. Much of the work involves helping people complete forms, but we also have good listening skills and offer moral support. We need people who have a kind and patient approach. You don't need to be an expert, but if you are patient and empathetic, you will develop new skills and knowledge.
