Volunteer Driver/Support Worker
When We Need You
From 01/04/2010 onwards
About Opportunity
The volunteer would collect the young person from their home address and take them to the identified venue/activity. The volunteer would be required to wait with the young person until the activity session is over, making sure that they meet appropriate tutors or instructors and are fully able to take part in the activity session that is offered. As golf has already been identified as an activity choice, this could include visits to a local golf club, or driving range. The volunteer would maintain a link with the young person ensuring consistency so that if other activities are tried the young person would always have the involvement of the volunteer. The young person suffered from Aspergers Syndrome and it is anticipated that the volunteer would have an awareness of the routines and behaviours associated with this condition.
