About Opportunity
(Not Presently Recruiting) The volunteer will gain valuable experience in working with vulnerable children and young people and will gain valuable training in child protection and drugs awareness. He or she will also participate in certificated volunteer award schemes. The volunteer will participate in trips and will gain experience in organising activities and events. The children and young people will gain respite from their own problems and an opportunity to participate in structured fun activities and trips. They will gain experience in developing community focused youth driven project work.

The Lighthouse Foundation delivers an extensive range of family support services to families and children who are affected by a family member’s addiction or substance misuse issues.
Skills & Experience
Excellent interpersonal skills. Sense of humour. Willingness to take part in activities as well as occasional residential trips. A commitment to help service users. Discretion essential.
Travel Details
Opportunities will be within close travel distance for all volunteers as we are hoping to expand our provision into a number of local communities throughout Ayrshire. Travel will either be by public transport or own vehicle and travel costs will be payable either at public transport rate or a mileage allowance.
Restrictions
Unemployed candidates particularly welcome however this is not essential. Experience of working with children / young people is advantageous but again not essential.
