About Opportunity
This vital and exciting role is about raising the profile of the charity and awareness of heart disease within schools, colleges and/or nurseries by giving short presentations about our work and the importance of healthy lifestyles. You will build up strong relationships with teachers and Active Schools Co-ordinators at schools within your area through your contact with schools. You will be helping to encourage schools to participate in national fundraising events such as Jump Rope for Heart (skipping event) and Ultimate Dodgeball, which raise vital funds whilst improving children’s heart health. Where schools have supported the charity, you attend cheque presentations and thank your supporters for their help.

Skills & Experience
You will be friendly and outgoing with a natural empathy with children and young people. Strong communication skills over the phone and face to face. You should enjoy speaking to other and giving imaginative presentations.
Travel Details
Cupar and East Fife. Some travel will be required in and around the town and possibly other areas in Fife.

Training and Induction Details
You will be working independently with support from your local Fundraising Volunteer Manager and from the BHF Scotland Office. You will also build up your own local contacts within the schools and colleges that you work with.

Expenses Detail
Mileage expenses are paid at 25pence per mile. We will also re-imburse other travel expenses (eg public transport) and other expenses as is deemed appropriate. Expenses are paid on a monthly basis after completion of an expenses claim form.

Frequency & Commitment
This is negotiable, and will depend on the number of schools you wish to work with. Up to a maximum of 2 hours a week – during term time
