About Opportunity

Working directly with 14:19 year olds you will be supporting young people to explore options around employment, education and training. You will help young people look at the barriers and concerns they have in their lives which prevent them from engaging with education/training and employment. Help them develop confidence in the person they are and take control of their future.

About Children 1st

CHILDREN 1st provides a variety of services for young people and their families in 17 local authorities in Scotland including family support, outreach services, abuse recovery services, Family Group Conferencing, and youth justice services, to national services such as Parentline Scotland, Child Protection in Sport, the National Storytelling Development Project and Befriending.

Skills & Experience

Patient, reliable, organised, non-judgemental, open minded and a good listener who is interested in and values the views, opinions and experiences of young people. Have an understanding of the experience and difficulties young people face. An ability to motivate and inspires young people through encouragement and belief in the young person's abilities. Happy and inventive people with a positive, uplifting personality.

Travel Details

Irvine, North Ayrshire. Mentors will work with young people within the community of North Ayrshire and Childrens 1st offices.
