About Opportunity
Home Link exists to provide good quality personal support to families with preschool children who are under stress and experiencing difficulties. This support is provided through our befriending service which operates in South East and South West Edinburgh and Midlothian. Home Link is looking to recruit an Accountant to strengthen its Board and take on the role of Treasurer. Specific tasks: overseeing the financial business of the organisation reporting accordingly to the Board advising the Book Keeper on financial matters attending bi monthly Board meetings chairing the Finance subgroup which also meets on a bi monthly basis

About Home Link
Home Link offers practical and emotional support to families who are under stress or experiencing difficulties. All families have at least one child under five. They are usually referred to us by Health Visitors/Social Workers who see the need for reliable, sustainable, low-key support by a Home Link befriender.
Skills & Experience
We are looking for a qualified Accountant with experience in assessing and managing financial risk and charity accounting procedures and an understanding of relevant legislation, notably OSCR and SORPS. Although not essential some experience of governance in a voluntary sector organisation would be desirable.
Travel Details
All meetings are held at our offices at 2 Easter Road. Meetings are held in the evenings.
Training and Induction Details
Full induction training will be offered over 2 half days. This will include a full introduction to the work of Home Link, roles and responsibilities of the Board, governance and management and Home Link’s policies and procedures.

Expenses Detail
Travel expenses will be reimbursed on a monthly basis. Car users are reimbursed at a rate of 40pence per mile. Childcare costs of up to £5 per hour are paid while volunteers are carrying out induction training.

Frequency & Commitment
Attend evening meetings on a monthly basis giving a time commitment of approximately 6 hours a month for 3 years.
