CSV Make A Difference Day - Saturday 27 October 2012

CSV Make a Difference Day is the UK’s biggest day of voluntary action and takes place this year on Saturday 27 October 2012. The campaign is encouraging people to sign up now. It’s fun, rewarding and makes big changes. You will be joining tens of thousands of other volunteers giving their time to improve their communities!

What could I do?
Activities can be anything that makes a difference, from creating community gardens to renovating homeless shelters, to simpler activities such as repairing computers or baking cakes for isolated neighbours. No idea is too big or too small.

This year the campaign will highlight the wide variety of skills people can use to volunteer. From professional skills such as web design, marketing or accountancy to a personal passion for photography, gardening or beauty therapy - everyone has a skill they can use to help others.

Where do I start?
You can take part through an organisation you are involved with, be it a charity, community group, school, university, youth group or sports club, or by joining forces with your family, friends or neighbours. If you want to take part as an individual, our online activity locator will show you where local opportunities are.
Activities can occur a week before or after Saturday 27 October, so can take place any time between 20 October and 4 November 2012.

How will we support you?
If you set up an activity we’ll send you a free Action Pack containing a helpful handbook that will help you to develop your idea, recruit volunteers and get useful press coverage. The pack also has a T-shirt, posters, balloons, stickers and certificates to thank your fellow volunteers. Your project can also be put on our online Activity Locator to attract new volunteers.
