I volunteered at Gorgie Farm at the age of 15 in summer 2005
This was one of my favourite jobs as I got to show the public the pet sanctuary and tell them about the animals we cared for.
I helped look after chinchillas , tortoises , rabbits , guinea pigs , rats , mice , hamster , birds and I fed the larger creatures such as the pigs , goats and horses at closing.
I really enjoyed being hands on, mucking out the animals and getting to see them kept well and safe and I would encourage anyone to take on this opporrtunity if it was given to them .
